I was born in Europe, my parents are American and German. My Dad started working on computers in the 70s and I picked it up when I went to the office with him. I started after my time in the Navy. I've been working as a self-taught Graphic Designer in 2003 after getting another degree, that one in Management Information Systems (Omaha Metro & Bellevue University). Only recently did I decide to back up my skills with an education.

I am influenced by the classic German designers before 1933 - Schulpig, Deffke, Behrens, etc. But I also draw inspiration from modern designers like Von Glitschka, Peter Voth, Joshua Smith (aka Hydro74), and Matt Wolfe.

Modern design leans heavily on the past. That is evident in the number of logos and designs still in use today. But to be relevant, these designs need modern updates. My process relies on research and brainstorming. I sketch on paper and then digitize those doodles. These doodles then turn into logos and designs. I believe that an organization is profoundly represented in its branding and I don't present a concept that I don't "feel."
